Lack of support from organisations make reporting on gender issues challenging: Journalists

LAHORE: Journalists argued on Thursday that reporting on gender issues was challenging because of a lack of support from media organisations.

They were sharing their experiences at a sensitisation session organised by Individualland Pakistan in collaboration with the Aurat Foundation and USAID.

Journalists from print, electronic and radio deliberated that there was still room for improvement in reporting about gender issues and that a lack of support from their respective media organisations made it challenging to report on those issues.

The session was organised to receive feedback from media personnel who had attended previous media sensitization sessions on 'Gender Equity' in Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi.

This series was the final phase in the process of sensitization of media which started with training workshops conducted by Individualland.
