KARACHI/LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formed an eight-member ‘Task Team’ to recommend areas that need improvement in the domestic structure of the game.

According to the PCB, Chairman Zaka Ashraf has approved the committee, to be headed by former Test cricketer Intikhab Alam with Zakir Khan, the board’s director of domestic cricket serving as his deputy. The team includes Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Sarfraz Nawaz, Moin Khan, Iqbal Qasim and Imtiaz Ahmed. Wasim Akram refused to be part of the committee due to  professional commitments.

“The Task Team will study and review the existing structure of domestic cricket considering its weaknesses and strengths and will propose any changes, if they feel that is required,” said the PCB in a statement. “The recommendations won’t be binding, though.”
