243 awarded degrees at BNU convocation

Governor says university has made its mark in region.

Beaconhouse National University’s sixth convocation was held at the BNU’S Tarogil Campus on Saturday. A total of 243 graduates received their degrees at the Convocation.


The convocation was presided over by the Chancellor University’s, Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa. Also present on the occasion were BNU Board of Governors Chairperson Nasreen Mahmud Kasuri, Vice Chancellor, Sartaj Aziz, and the Board of Governors members.

Of 243 students 78 received the M.Phil, and master’s programs while 165 were from the bachelor’s programs. The deans of respective BNU schools presented their graduates. Vice Chancellor, Sartaj Aziz presented the annual report on BNU’s progress.  In his address Chancellor, Khosa, commended Mrs Kasuri for pioneering higher-education. He said, “It is not the brick and mortar but the soul within a scholar that speaks of the academic excellence of the institution”.Khosa also said, “BNU has made its mark not only in Pakistan, but also the region. He also praised BNU for offering scholarships for inclusion of women. This year, 19 gold medals were awarded in recognition of academic excellence. Among the total gold-medalists, 16 were female students.
