Golf: Pakistan’s biggest event begins today

LAHORE: Lahore Gymkhana is set to host the inaugural Quaid-i-Azam Open Golf Championship that begins today and carries prize-money worth a million rupees. More than 250 participants will take part in the event in various categories. “We wanted to add a major tournament to the country’s golf calendar,” tournament director Pervaiz Saeed told The Express Tribune. “This is the biggest golf event in Pakistan. The categories of the championship consist of amateurs, professionals, veterans, senior amateurs and ladies among others.”
