‘Oversized’ lemons at Haji Muhammad Siraj's farm weigh a kilogramme each.

PESHAWAR: You reap what you sow - this might not be true in the case of a man from Peshawar.

Haji Muhammad Siraj sowed ordinary lemon seeds only to harvest lemons that weighed a kilogramme or more each.

The ‘over-sized’ lemons are not only juicy but are also a delight to see.

Siraj said that he had never seen such lemons in his life and that it was surprising for him to find out that the lemons had grown so big.

As the information circulated in the area, people flocked to Siraj’s orchard to see them and were amazed by their size.

Siraj grows other plants in his orchard as well.

I think you should also mention that its a ponderosa lemon. Nothing new here. Its a species that has a thick rind, lots of seeds and is a mix of eureka lemon and citron. Its takes the look and taste from a lemon and size from the citron. Hope that clears things up.

The local agriculture department should do some serious reseach on the seds and the soil.
