Permission granted: SBCA to approve illegal structures

Announced a scheme for giving legal approval to structures at were previously considered illicit.

KARACHI: thThe Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has announced a scheme for giving legal approval to structures at were previously considered illicit. The scheme, which has been introduced under an amendment of the Amnesty Scheme Ordinance 2011, has been approved by the minister for local bodies, Agha Siraj Durrani. The citizens of Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Mirpurkhas who built structures illegally, can apply to have them approved by the government. However structures which have been constructed over public places such as roads, streets and car parking areas, will not be accepted as legal structures under this scheme.
