Tennis: Bogomolov can play for Russia

LOS ANGELES: The International Tennis Federation says American Alex Bogomolov is eligible to play for Russia in the Davis Cup. A Davis Cup Committee ruled that Moscow-born Bogomolov can compete for Russia against Austria in the first round of the Davis Cup beginning February 10. Bogomolov, who has dual citizenship, moved to Florida in 1992 and has represented the US at tournaments since turning pro nine years ago. He has, however, never played in the Davis Cup. Bogomolov is one of the most improved players on the ATP Tour, going from world number 166 at the end of 2010 to world number 33 in November 2011.
