No laughing matter
LAHORE:
This is with reference to Sami Shah’s article ‘I can’t laugh anymore’ (July 22). The question that comes to mind after reading this is whether the writer intend to do about all the problems that he has written about. The phrase “the pen is mightier than the sword” is as true as the belief that there is a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow. Feeling hopeless isn’t going to help anyone. What you can do is give direction, guidance and a way out of the carnage, rather than criticise. It’s easy to sulk all day long funny man but doing something is the hard part.
