United Arab Emirates (UAE) investment into the telecom and IT sectors of Pakistan is significant and it is expected to grow further in coming years, said Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Senior Executive Vice President, Commercial, Naveed Saeed.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Saeed said that PTCL and Ufone - two companies having heavy investment from the UAE - alone are putting in $400 million into infrastructure every year in Pakistan. “Pakistan is now moving to 3G technology and this will also bring more foreign investment into Pakistan,” he added.
The UAE has organised a three-day single country exhibition at the Karachi Expo Centre, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday and which will conclude on December 2, 2011, the national day of UAE.
This single country exhibition of UAE, which is being fully backed by the Government of Pakistan, will usher a new era of government-to-government collaboration in trade and commerce, Saeed said, adding that this will also give a boost to other sectors like oil and gas, banking and real estate.
“Government of UAE is motivating its companies to invest in Pakistan. This time things are completely different from the past,” Saeed added.

Love you UAE, you have been always available to us be it political turmoil, economic downturn, socio conditions.
@ahsan: Actually, I don't think t would be much of a difference in cost to simply launch into 4 G
@Britistani: at least they r ready for launching 3g .... u know mobile operators in pakistan r not even ready to invest for 3g and u r talking about 4g ....
I think Pakistan should skip 3G and go for 4G.
Good to hear...
