Extortionate murder: Fisherman killed at River Indus

A gang of dacoit­s demand­ed the monthl­y extort­ion amount from Hashim, upon shot and killed him on the spot.

A 25-year-old fisherman, Muhammad Hashim, was shot dead by dacoits over refusal to pay extortion money at the River Indus, on Wednesday.


According to the deceased’s family, a gang of dacoits, led by Fauji Khakhrani, demanded the monthly extortion amount from Hashim and upon refusal, opened fire and killed him on the spot. Ketty Mumtaz SHO Muhammad Ali Korai said that the police raided Jehan Khan Khakhrani village to arrest the accused, but they had already fled.
