HEC asks EC to submit original certificates

Express July 22, 2010

ISLAMABAD: The fake degrees issue drew federal ministers into its fold as the HEC wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan to provide original certificates of four parliamentarians.

The Higher Education Commission sought original certificates of Federal Minister Khursheed Shah.

The letter states that Federal Minister Khursheed Shah had presented the provisional certificate instead of submitting the original educational certificate.

The provisional certificate submitted by Khursheed Shah states that he did his LLB in 1987 from Sukkur Law College while the provisional certificate was issued in 2002.

The HEC demanded original ceritificates of four parliamentarians including Khursheed Shah, Malik Iqbal Langaryal, Habib ur Rehman and Zahoor Hussain Khosa.
