KARACHI: The Sea View blast and the suicide blast in Block 13 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar are connected, it emerged on Sunday.

According to sources, the terrorists at Sea View were dispatched by the suicide bomber who blew himself up in a raid on Friday.

Mobile phone records showed that Atiqur Rehman, one of the two identified terrorists who died in the Sea View blast, had received a call from Block 13 in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. When the rangers and police raided Rao Israr Heights and knocked on the apartment door a blast was heard from inside. A woman opened the door and the body of the suicide bomber was lying in the kitchen, which was later identified as Mueedul Islam.

The woman was Mueedul Islam’s wife and had separated a month ago when she found out that he had links to a banned organisation. She had come back on the day of the blast to take her things from the house.

The intelligence agencies are analysing the laptop, mobile phone and other equipment found from the apartment. The woman and her three sons and a daughter were taken into custody.

Another terrorist was identified as Shoaibur Rehman, while three others remain unidentified.
