
Afshan Sajid, assistant director NBF, said the competition is announced once a year under the project titled ‘Children Literature, Write and Win’. In this competition, any one can participate by writing a book for children under 16 years of age. The aim of the project is to provide supplementary reading material for children and develop reading habits in them. She said the winning books are distributed to the libraries of various educational institutes. Sajid added that the cash award for the competition was supposed to be funded by the Ministry of Education, but this was not being done and the money had to be collected through donations.
