FAISALABAD: The teaching staff of National Fertilizer College (NFC) boycotted all academic activities and staged a demonstration against the Deputy Manager of the college on Saturday. According to police officials, the staff cancelled classes and came out of the main campus to stage a protest on Faisalabad-Jaranwala Road led to disrupted traffic for several hours. The protesting teachers were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the Deputy Manage NFC and demanded his immediate removal for allegedly firing several teachers without cause. “The deputy manager fired people purely because he wanted to hire his own friends and family in their place,’ said a protesting teacher. They said they would boycott the teaching activities for indefinite period, if immediate steps were not taken for the removal of the DM.
