ISLAMABAD: Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Vice Chairman Safder Hussain Mehkri said that Pakistan will enhance its rice exports in the beginning of 2012 to meet the demand of traditional buyers. Talking to the media, he said that Pakistan’s rice exporters are flexing their muscles to increase the exports quantum in the international markets as a shortage is expected in the near future, following flood-hit Thailand. He said that buyers are still fulfilling their needs from a large stock with Thailand but they will not able to continue their purchasing from Thailand after floods inundated rice crop there.
