LAHORE: An Additional District & Sessions Judge (AD&S) on Wednesday fixed November 22 as the date to hear arguments on a petition against the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office and EDO Health to issue compensation cheques amounting to Rs0.5m  to the family of a dengue victim.

Petitioner Naheed Robi filed a petition before AD&S Judge Khizar Hayat Sial contending that her husband Rana Javed had died of dengue but the Deputy Commissioner was not issuing the compensation cheque of Rs0.5m, as announced by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in October.

She prayed to the court to direct the Deputy Commissioner to issue her the cheque, upon which the court fixed November 22 for hearing of arguments.
