Five killed in Quetta road accident

QUETTA: At least five people died and eight were injured, including two children, when a tractor crashed into a passenger van bound for Zhob near Muslim Bagh in Qila Abdullah district on Tuesday night.

According to official sources, a passenger van was on its way to Zhob from Quetta when it collided with a tractor coming from the opposite side near Muslim Bagh bazaar, killing three people on the spot while injuring ten others, including two children.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the site soon after the accident and took the dead bodies and injured to a nearby state-run hospital in Muslim Bagh where two of the injured were pronounced dead on arrival.

The deceased include Mohammad Ali, Jaffar Hussain, Mohammad Yunus, Safdar Ali and Allahyar. Three of the victims belonged to Para Chanar area of Khyber Pakhtunkwa.

According to doctors at the Provincial Sandeman Hospital, four amongst the injured were referred to Quetta in critical condition.
