KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah ordered officials to remove the encroachment on ‘Kolachi Cooperative Housing society’, a scheme developed for the residence of parliamentarians at National Stadium Road, on Monday while presiding over a meeting of Revenue Department. The 70 acres land was allotted during the Pakistan Peoples Party government but has been stalled since then due to encroachment by land grabbers. “Total cost of the land is Rs40 million, which we paid soon after the land was allotted to the cooperative society, but people built unauthorised shanties and walls in the area,” said PPP MPA Dr Sikandar Mendhro, also member of the cooperative society. He added that the government had received numerous complaints.”
