Sadar Muridke police has claimed to have traced the murderers of a couple and has arrested the deceased woman’s father and brother on the charge of honour killing.
An official told The Express Tribune that Naseem bibi had married Idrees secretly and disappeared from the house six months ago. According to Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal, accused Bashir and his son Naveed of stabbing Idrees to death.
A case has been registered against both of the accused. The girl’s body was also recovered from a pond in Gharyal. According to police, both the accused confessed their crime stating that it was a matter of ‘honour’. After completing physical remand at the Sadar Muridke police station, both the accused are to be handed over to the Tatlay Wali police station for further interrogation, where a case has also been registered against them.

It is a disgrace. We need quality education to become a tolerant society. Look at the amount of funding for education in our budget. It is next to nothing.
I've never seen any condemnation of such incidents from our so-called religious scholars. What a pity!!
@Shahzad: Replace 'honor' with property to make sense of the beliefs held by a segment of our population. For such people, womenfolk are property which is to be 'protected' and kept 'private'.
So this is our concept of honour, something limited to our daughters, sisters, wives and mothers.
