Wahab, Nasir trouble Karachi in Quaid Trophy

NBP fast-bowler claims six wickets, opener hits century on 2nd day.

Nasir Jamshed hit an unbeaten century to help NBP reach 227 for two after their bowlers had sparked a collapse to dismiss Karachi Blues for 298 in the first-innings on the second day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Jamshed was 127 not out after Wahab Riaz, excluded from the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka, claimed six for 55 as Karachi added just 51 to their overnight total and lost six wickets in the process.

Faisalabad on top against HBL

Fast-bowler Abdul Rauf claimed a five-for as Faisalabad dismissed HBL for a modest 156-run total, gaining a first-innings lead of 91. Khaqan Arsal was the only batsman who offered some sort of resistance, making a 136-ball 71. Rauf was well-supported by Naseer Akram who claimed three for 41.

Earlier, leg-spinner Danish Kaneria finished with six for 91 as HBL bowled out Faisalabad for 247 after they had resumed on 219 for eight on the second morning.

SBP dominate Rawalpindi

SBP increased their lead to 144 as they reached 27 for no loss in their second-innings after having dismissed Rawalpindi for a paltry 121.

SBP, who made 238 in their first-innings, were indebted to Saad Altaf’s seven for 59 as Rawalpindi were bundled out in just 30 overs.

Wapda gain lead

Aamir Sajjad made 106 not out to help Wapda gain a
52-run first-innings lead against Islamabad. Wapda reached 284 for four on the second day after the hosts were bowled out for 232. The visitors will be looking to consolidate their position further with a solid first-innings lead over Islamabad.

PIA batsmen prosper

PIA declared their innings closed at a mammoth 505 for four, courtesy centuries by Kamran Sajid and Faisal Iqbal before Sialkot reached 62 for one at the end of day two.

In another match, hosts Abbottabad were reduced to 82 for three by the ZTBL bowlers.ZTBL had scored 305 in their first-innings.
