The EO delegates met with British Parliamentarians, who were of the view that Pakistan needed to focus on the development of the people, give incentives to local investors, create employment generation opportunities and ensure business competitiveness to overcome multiple internal and external challenges being faced by the country.
The parliamentarians said that investment in the people would enable them to face challenges being faced by the country, while incentives to the local investors would encourage foreign investments.
They also stressed the need for early establishment of public-private joint working groups for result oriented policies.
The Pakistani delegation included Umair Virk of Hira Textile, Agha Murtaza of National Tiles, Faisal Shafi of Shafi Textile, Meher Kashif of Model Steel, Anees Khawaja of Mahmood Textile, SM Imran of Din Textile, Khuram Saleem of Shalimar Shoes, Yousuf Waqar of Eagle Industries and Bilal Ejaz of Diamond Industries.
British Parliamentarians and other dignitaries included MP for East Ham and Shadow Minister Stephen Timms, MP for Birmingham Perry Barr, Khalid Mehmood, MP for Warley John F Spellar, MP Lord Nazir Ahmad, Newham Councilor and Mayor’s Community Advisor, Umesh Desai, Peter Courtney of UK Trade & Investment, Executive Director Regeneration, Planning & Property Clive Dutton, Director Wastfield John Burton and a large number of expatriate Pakistanis.
The Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) was founded by a group of young entrepreneurs in 1987 and is a network of more than 8,000 businesses in 38 countries.
