KARACHI: The Sindh High Court issued notice to the home secretary, provincial police chief, advocate general and others on Monday on a petition seeking the whereabouts of a 13-year-old boy.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Musheer Alam and Justice Muhammed Ali Mazhar was hearing a petition filed by Raheema Khatoon. She submitted that her son Mohammed Ali, had left their Korangi residence on March 5, 2010 to buy groceries from a nearby shop, but didn’t return.

She lodged an FIR (No 233/2010) against three suspects Noor Mohammed, Ramesh and Jamil Bihari at the Korangi Industrial Area police station for kidnapping her son. She said the police arrested Noor Muhammed but he was later released on bail.

The police have yet to find her son. She said that she had sent applications to the home secretary, IG, CCPO, and DIG East.

She alleged that the police authorities had threatened her with dire consequences if she continued to pursue the case.

The case will next be heard on July 27.
