Kite string slits throat of sole bread-earner of family

Muhammad Asif was on his bike to give medicines to his sick mother when a kite string caught him by the neck.

LAHORE: A young man died after his throat got slit by a kite’s string at Sabzazar police precincts on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Muhammad Asif (24), resident of Kot Lakhpat near Sabzi Mandi area. He was riding a bike, carrying medicines for his sick mother when a kite string caught him around his neck. Police officials said that due to the deep wound and excessive bleeding, Asif died on the spot.

An FIR has been lodged under Section 302 PPC on the complaint of Muhammad Tariq, an uncle of the deceased. Asif was an employee at a leather factory and was the eldest child of the family.

SHO Sabzazar Muhammad Raza told The Express Tribune that the kite was flying in the Gulshan-e-Ravi area. He said that while police work to enforce the ban on kite flying, public should also cooperate with law enforcement officials and observe the ban.

Its not kite flying it's the glass line used. Many other fun ways to fly kites with out ground glass.
