Sixteen-year-old Nimra was shot and injured when two men, allegedly the nephews of a prominent businessman, opened fire at her house.
Nimra’s brother, Sheikh Waqas Khursheed, registered an FIR, No. 506/11 with the Boat Basin police, against two boys, Faizan Dehdhi and Akbar Dehdhi, under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Khursheed, who runs a private business, told The Express Tribune that Faizan and Akbar, once friends of his, shot at his apartment on the seventh floor at Boat Basin. A bullet pierced his youngest sister’s hand and she was taken to a private hospital. The girl was later treated at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and discharged. The Dhedhi boys and Khursheed had a falling out about three months ago over a personal dispute. “Faizan accused me of turning his girlfriend against him and began threatening me,” Khursheed claimed. “He threatened me both directly and indirectly many times and finally he opened fire at my house from the street bellow.”
Nimra’s brother claims that he has already turned down an offer from the suspects’ family about a possible compromise over the registration of the case. He also went on to accuse the police station where he registered the FIR of supporting the Dhedhi family.
The family claims that no such incident occurred and the whole thing is a misunderstanding. They said that the boys’ guards opened aerial fire as they were passing by the apartments and Khursheed took it to be an attack. District South SSP Naeem Sheikh, however, rubbished his claims and said that they registered a case against the pair by name and are not under pressure from their family. While the suspects are currently in hiding, the police are looking for them and are confident that it is only a matter of time before they are found.
Clifton DSP Zameer Abbasi claims that such cases are a commonplace. Young men of influential families tend to group together and fight each other with the help of their private, armed, security guards. In 2010 there was the case in Clifton where a boy named Ali Murad was shot dead in a similar clash between two groups.
Recently, however, the number of cases has decreased. Police credit this decline to their new strategy in which they take action against the culprits and file cases immediately before their families can get involved.

its shamed on waqas that these guys were friends and now he is using his sister against faizan and akbar by blackmailing them for 800000.
faizans a really nice person, the best friend anyone could have and always always gets mad when somebody sayd anything about mister waqas especially. god knows whats gotten into him. one should just read the FIR and see how contradictory it is. really gets you thiking whose side youre supposed to be on really
i know these people myself, yes indeed they are fun loving but not criminals at all...this Guy had been doing all his best in past to keep F happy it must be be some personal gain which maybe he couldn't get through other means so trying to black mail...its really shallow.
ooh dear GOD is this Waqas guy using his young sister to have some publicity..its such a shame...these people living their low life envy so much the life of the well to do, moneyed & politically well connected people...this article in daily time is really a thought provoking martial. it shows how low life people can be when it comes to having finical gains.
Reading this and hearing the viewpoint it seems like these people were threatened rather than being Inducers of this foul action which everyone would and should condemn!
Well There are always two sides to the story as they say. On one hand these people are claiming that these people shot at the girl and the guy registered an FIR. I dont know what the infatuation of my fellow country men is towards such incidents but some research bounded by curiousity showed me the flipside of the coin so as to say

If you follow this hyperlink you will see how this becomes a thing in which you never know which side to take.
the invention of internet have made broadcast of information much easier & accessiable to all walks of life but this simple fact makes life of many people ignorant, without having proper back ground to the story or having information about the people involved one should not pass such comments, the "Dhedi family" are decent people with good reputation in the society, its merely another trick to spill dirt by such malicious means.
The reason why these Dhedhi boys have become such a neusence now to the society is because of their uncle AKD..., they missuse his name and power in all their disgusting criminal acts!! These guys are so well known and famous for their cheap sick mentality & their thugness. This is not the first time they have opened fire at someone's house They know... no matter what they do their Uncle with all his money, power & influence is there to rescue them and they are so above the law. An example should be set out of them this time & their uncle should disassociate himself from these lunatics... only then they will know how its like to face the law without their family's money and support. SSP Naeem Sheikh these criminals are still openly roaming around with their guards and can kill anyone anytime. They should be put behind bars... All the best!
Its pathetic...these boys are still hanging around in the open in defense area and still doing the same things as always....this FIR is a joke for public consumption. Relief is that these kids will probably end up dead within the next few encounters of this sort....its not the rule of law that will get him but the laws of nature.
These same Dhedhi boys have been involved in another shoot out in which a person was killed at a shopping mall in Clifton just some months back. This Faizan kid got shot then and spent months recovering. He hasn't even fully recovered yet and now he's done this. I dont think he should be shown any leniency and this tendency of the children of wealthy businessmen emulating the actions of tribals from rural areas is totally unacceptable and we need to hang these kids before they kill someone else....an example should be made of this thug. having personally met this two bit thug, I can tell you were it not for his uncle's money, this kid would be washing dishes in kharadar at some hotel....now he should be made to pay the price of his actions so he can be brought back down to earth.
Without money these boys are NOTHING. You really have to see their faces to understand what I'm talking about haha.. poor lads.
This is why we are going down....absence of justice....and no law for the spoilt rich brats
Clifton DSP Zameer Abbasi claims that such cases are a commonplace. Young men of influential families tend to group together and fight each other with the help of their private, armed, security guards. And yet nothing is done to control this menace???!!! The Dhedhi cousins should be arrested!!!
"Clifton DSP Zameer Abbasi claims that such cases are a commonplace." this is your response Mr. DSP? Who is responsible then?
These Dehdhi boys should be punished and sentenced. It is not the first time that they have used automatic weapons against their opponents. Their fat corrupt uncle/father should also be dealt a lesson. He claims to be a Memon businessman whereas his sons love to duplicate Sindhi waderas. Lets see if the media dares to highlight this issue.
nothing will happen.the very rich get away with everything in pakistan.the chief justice should take suo moto notice and set an example that the richest and most influential pakistanis will also be held accountable for their crimes.but in this case, as always,a compromise will be reached.the ultra rich use their wealth and influence to get away scot free all the time.
Clifton DSP Zameer Abbasi, find the two cowards and lock em up with the pedophiles!
