ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) aims to improve the landscape of Islamabad by initiating a Rs8 million project.

Asif Majeed, Director Park CDA, told The Express Tribune on Sunday that the authority will carry out a number of landscaping activities all over the city.

Moreover, a large number of saplings will be planted all over Islamabad, Margalla Hills and Saidpur Village to double the number of trees, he added.

CDA Spokesperson Ramzan Sajid added that the project will focus on parks, markets, intersections, parking areas and roadsides.

He said that the authority will also create awareness regarding the environment among residents through print and electronic media advertising.

A senior engineer at CDA Directorate of Engineering, who is supervising the project, said that a team of designers has already been formed and will start work on the project soon after Ramazan.

This is the first time in 50 years that a beautification project of this scale has been initiated, said Director Majeed.
