LAHORE:

It’s been a whirlwind ride for Lahore-based singer Adeel Chaudhry who has gone from being a dentistry student to the world of singing and is now making his way to Bollywood.

The singer is set to make his debut as a lead actor in the Bollywood film Rhythm. Apart from this, Chaudhry is also working on the release of his second album called Ruk Ja.

“My ultimate dream is to act in Bollywood,” says Chaudhry, whose film is scheduled to be released in February. The film produced by Bollywood producer Vivek Kumar, best known for Lakeer which featured Sunny Deol and John Abraham, is currently being shot in Poland.

His entry into Bollywood adds to the list another musician who has crossed over to the silver screen. With good looks to complement his talent, Chaudhry has the potential to become a formidable force in the industry. “We want to make our mark around the world, hence, many artists don’t want to lose any chances they have of making it big,” says Chaudhry. “India is a much bigger market so you have to push yourself and your talents further in order to attain success.”

Chaudhry made his entrance directly in the Indian market, first through a Pepsi commercial, then as a singer when he was signed by Tips. His first single, “Mere Haniya”, was a self-financed music video after which the singer proved his mettle through the soundtrack for the Bollywood film Kismat Konnection, “Move Your Body”.

Meanwhile, his upcoming album Ruk Ja will have nine songs, with two videos shot in Bangkok and London.
