QUETTA: Gunmen shot dead Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) General Secretary for Panjgur on Saturday. According to police, gunmen riding on motorbikes opened indiscriminate fire on Hafiz Ehteshamul Haq near the Sari Kan area. Haq received multiple bullet wounds and was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Separately, a Bugti tribesman was killed in a crossfire between the Frontier Corps personnel and Bugti tribesmen in Naseerabad district, some 370 kilometres southeast of Quetta on Saturday, the police said. According to Nasirabad police officials, paramilitary personnel retaliated to an attack by Bugti tribesmen.
