Terms Served: Plea for release of 2 Indian prisoners

The chief justice of the Lahore High Court will take up the case on October 31.

LAHORE: A writ petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court for the release of two Indian prisoners, Satinder Paul Singh and Karale Bhanudas, who are in Kot Lakhpat jail even though they have completed their sentences. The petitioner, Advocate Awais Sheikh, submitted that the men were being kept in jail on the grounds that proof of their identification was not available, but proof of identification had been provided to the Foreign Office and verified by the Indian High Commission. The government had taken no action for their release, he said.He asked the court to direct the government to release both Indian prisoners. The chief justice of the Lahore High Court will take up the case on October 31.
