Police the most corrupt department in the country
Talking to the media in Gujranwala, the Director General said that Police was followed by the Finance department, highway authority and town governments. He added that the anti-corruption department resolves all applications regarding corruption within two months.
He also admitted that the judiciary was cooperating in the fight against corruption for the first time in the country’s history.
Saeed added that 397 challans had so far been presented before the anti-corruption court from January to September.
However, hundreds of thousands of rupees have been recovered from officials from different departments.

Corruption starts from the top and on top are politicians
very much in dync with their counterparts in india...which has one of the most corrupt police setup in tbe eorld.
Police is extremely corrupt. More corrupt than any department. The police should be dissolved and a new police force should be trained. Like the case was with traffic police.
from my personal observation, many police officers start out as honest men but power people around them, in police and outside push them into a corner to become corrupt or lose everything they have worked for. .they are not all bad guys, i have met some nice ppl but most of them are underpaid and under-appreciated by public..
the second they arrest someone......that person's chacha...mamaa comes with a sifarash from some power guy in police or politics and the arresting officers is embarrassed. so after a while, i guess policemen think whats the point in doing the right thing, so they become very selective about their good deeds, maybe one good deed a day.........
Give them recognition and fair compensation and perhaps they wont be so corrupt as they are. There is a dire need of police reforms. We need to double our police force almost instantly. You can judge this from the fact that a traffic warden stands on the road, in the sunlight from the morning till day is off. So long hours of duty should be reduced. Special benefits should be provided to members of policemen like Fauji Foundation provides to faujis which includes, subsidized shopping and recreational areas and low cost educational facilities to the children of policemen.
Surprise surprise!
We all know its corrupt. To avoid corrupt police mens. Govt. and politicians together need to hire educated police men complete restructuring and proper trained. Police dept. need to be computerized with systems. Electronic records and FIR system to be recorded in databases. Need to offer them good salaries just like Motorway police so that they avoid Rishwat.
And what about the men in uniform?
How about the anti corruption department itself! It must be among the top three.
I seriously doubt that our police department is the most corrupt institution. All institutions are all equally corrupt because the generally citizenry is corrupt. After all, institutions are a reflection of society. The people in the schools or hospitals or police department are from the same society. I always hear of people trying to bribe and influence police but then these same people will call the policeman corrupt! This is the type of hypocrisy which you see all over the Muslim world.
