Contraband: Police seize 20 litres of liquor

Mamonkanjan police unearthed a distillery and seized a heavy quantity of liquor on Wednesday.

FAISALABAD: Mamonkanjan police unearthed a distillery and seized a heavy quantity of liquor on Wednesday. According to police officials, they received a tip-off and sub inspector (SI) Munawwar Husain conducted a raid in Chak No511-GB where two drug peddlers were busy preparing liquor in a maize field. “The men were caught red handed. They were preparing the liquor when raided the area and seized the ingredients. Locals had tipped police off about the location and we were prepared,” said a police official at the Mamonkanjan police station. The police arrested an accused from the site and seized 20 litres of liquor and other materials. The accused was sent behind bars after a case was registered against him, while the second accused managed to flee the scene.
