FC personnel killed by landmine near Sorange coal mines
BLA took responsibility for the death, while FC has launched a search operation for the culprits.

A Frontier Corps (FC) officer was killed when a landmine exploded near the Sorange coal mines, in the suburbs of Quetta, on Tuesday morning.
Banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for killing FC man. Its spokesman, who introduced himself as Merak Baloch said his organisation will continue such attacks on security forces in future.
According to Mohammad Ishaq, the spokesperson for Frontier Corps (FC), said that the FC officer killed was on a mine detection and removal patrol near the Sorange area when one mine exploded killing him instantly.
A heavy contingent of security forces rushed to the spot soon after blast and cordoned off the area. The deceased was shifted to hospital for autopsy. Security forces started a search operation in the area.
In another incident a doctor was shot and injured by unknown assailants in Satellite town area of Quetta on Tuesday, police said.
According to the police, the doctor identified as Zabiullah was at his clinic in Goal Masjid area of Satellite town when some unknown persons barged into the clinic and opened fire at him.
Zabiullah received a bullet injury in his leg.
Police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and shifted the injured to Provincial Sandeman Hospital for treatment. “The doctor received a single bullet in his leg,” hospital sources said.
Police said incident took place over a petty issue and investigations were underway. “Exchange of harsh words resulted in clash,” a police officer explained. No arrest was made in this connection.
