Work rivalry: Security guard guns down colleague at five-star hotel

A security guard deputed at the entrance gate of a five-star hotel in Sector G-5 shot and killed his colleague after they had an argument over a petty issue.


Police said Aurengzeb Khan, a resident of Kohat, opened fire on Abdul Hafeez, a resident of Burewala, after a brief brawl.

Hafeez, 35, died at the spot. The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for autopsy, where it remained at the time this report was filed.

The Secretariat police arrested Khan, who did not try to escape from the scene after killing his colleague. Police said the two guards had a brawl over name-calling.

Khan shot Hafeez after the latter passed derogatory remarks against his family. Police registered a murder case against Khan and started investigations.
