QUETTA:

A complete shutter down strike was observed in Dera Allahyar on Thursday, demanding the immediate and safe release of kidnapped local trader Israr Ahmed Khosa.

Chanting slogans against law enforcing agencies for their failure to protect the traders from criminals, angry merchants blocked the National Highway near the town.

As a result, the flow of normal traffic between Sindh and Balochistan highway was disrupted for over three hours.

Israr Khosa, owner of a spare parts outlet, was kidnapped while he was returning to his village, Jiani.

All shops remained closed in Dera Allahyar, as most of the traders took part in the demonstration.
