HARARE:

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill and wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum outshined the fine effort put up by Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor, sharing a match-winning second-wicket partnership of 157 runs as the visitors beat the hosts by six wickets to win the three-match One-Day International series 2-0.

Guptill hit 105 with the help of nine boundaries, while McCullum scored 87 to ensure that New Zealand overcame a competitive target of 260.

McCullum’s departure on 206 gave the hosts some hope as three wickets fell in the space of 16 runs. But Kane Williamson (14 not out) ensured New Zealand got home with plenty of balls to spare.

Earlier, Taylor hit his second successive unbeaten century to lead his team to a competitive 259 for eight. Taylor made a superb 107 with 12 fours and a six.
