FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has stated that it is updating its network and is expending Rs2 billion annually to provide quality services to its consumers.
Fescochief executive Tanveer Safdar Cheema, while visiting a 132-KV grid station at Chak No103-RB currently under construction, on Tuesday said that two grid stations of 132-KV capacity had been completed at Chak No126 Sargodha and Khannuana while two more of the same capacity would become functional by August, 2010. Cheema stressed that people were facing a severe power crisis but Fesco was doing its best to cope with the shortage and provide a steady supply of electricity to its consumers.
He said that the completion of these grid stations would help reduce the complaints about low voltage and continual load shedding in the Khurarianwala and Jaranwala Road localities besides providing more electricity connections to these areas. “These grid stations will also help save 1.85 million units per annum,” he added. He said that a 7.93 km long 132-KV transmission line had been laid in the area while initially only six feeders would be linked to the new grid stations. “These feeders include the New Interloop, Firdoos, Jaranwala Road, Arzo, Old MK Sons and Chaudhary Wala,” he said, adding that the completion of the grid would add new electricity connections to domestic as well as commercial localities.
