Mansha Yaad: a unique writer of principles, integrity and honesty

Condolence reference held to honour the late writer’s services.

Muhammad Mansha Yaad was a unique writer who always upheld the principles of honesty and integrity in his literary work. This was said at a condolence reference here at the National Language Authority here on Thursday.


A large number of poets, writers, educationists, friends and family members gathered and paid a rich tribune to the late writer, where they shared their memories with him.

The speakers said Yaad’s death was a great loss to literature and the space created by his demise can never be filled.

“Yaad was an affectionate friend, a lovely father and a true literary figure,” said Parveen Tahir, a fiction writer.

Renowned writer Dr Rasheed Amjad said Yaad was a sea of knowledge and his literary contributions would always be remembered.

Dr Ghazanfar Mehdi said Yaad was the most popular officer in Capital Development Authority (CDA) and contributed a lot for the development of Islamabad during his lifetime. He suggested that the government should rename the 7th Avenue in his name to acknowledge his services.

“As an officer of the CDA, Yaad laid the foundation of a literary club in Islamabad, which is indeed a great service to literature,” he added.

Yaad’s son Farrukh Jamil said his father always stressed on the importance of honesty and always advised them to earn a respectable living with honesty and hard work.

Hamid Qaiser, Anwar Fitrat, Naseer Ahmed Nasar, Sarfaraz Shahid, Ali Akber Abbas, Shajda Chisti, Jalil Aali, Waqar Bin Elahi also spoke on the occasion and hailed the huge services of the late fiction writer.
