Life is all about rejoicing and celebrating the milestones around us. It brings fans much happiness when their favourite celebrities share their special moments. Celebrity mothers-to-be Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan and Lily Allen are at the centre of attraction this week, with the news of their baby showers making rounds in the media.
Former ‘Miss World’ and Bollywood actor Aishwarya had a grand baby shower ceremony a few days ago. Distinguished guests like Urmila Matondkar, Bipasha Basu and Dimple Kapadia were present at the Bachchan household in Mumbai to congratulate eight-month pregnant Aishwarya.
Her hubby Abhishek posted on his Twitter page, “Thank you so much for wishing Aishwarya on her Godh Bharai. I read out some of your messages to her. After a day filled with tradition, Indian customs and ladies, it is back to work for me.” Aishwarya’s father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, had revealed the news of her pregnancy through his Twitter account in June. The baby is due mid-November.
Across continents, British pop singer Lily Allen is also in the latter stages of her pregnancy and to celebrate her child’s imminent arrival she will have a baby shower this week. Allen, the “Smile” singer, and artist Sam Cooper married in June, in South West England, and announced the pregnancy on their big day.
Allen has recently been experiencing some uncomfortable pregnancy side-effects and she plans to fill her time until the baby shower by watching vampire TV drama “True Blood”. “Bad back, no sleep. I’m going to start ‘True Blood’, and watch it till my baby shower,” she posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

I was not expecting such a stupid article on this new paper
Whats so "yuk" about a woman's pregnant belly??? Isnt it the same way you came into this world?
@Salman
It's shower of gifts to the mother-to-be.
@RizwanTKhan
Wrong, it's an Indian custom, it's called 'Godh Bharaai' in North India. Pregnant belly is NOT shown as you think. The mother-to-be is given gifts and well wishes and that's all.
@Noor
Nothing weird about it: http://www.google.com/trends?q=bollywood
