‘Integrate sciences to create new discipline’

Scientists and academics discuss chemistry’s impact on the world.

Integrating various scientific disciplines will push the boundaries of science, constituting another discipline. This was said by Dr Badar Suleman, Member Science, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), at a three-day conference on “Recent Trends in Chemistry”, said a press release issued by Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH) on Wednesday.


Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan, Vice Chancellor Malakand University, while inaugurating the conference said the role of chemistry in synthesising and shaping the world is pivotal and cannot be ignored.

He also made special mention of the research activities undertaken by PINSTECH in liaison with universities and research institutions.

The conference aims to place an emphasis on worldwide activities carried out during the United Nations’ declared year of Chemistry. The theme also highlights the contributions of women in various sciences, especially Chemistry.

The conference has attracted 119 scientists from research and academia and deliberations will continue for three days.
