Police foil attempt to smuggle arms, ammunition from Peshawar to Karachi

Police find 2 G3 rifles, 6 Kalashnikovs, 1 double-barrel gun, 18 pistols and over 4,000 rounds of ammunition.

KARACHI: The Excise Police on Wednesday claimed to have foiled an attempt to smuggle a large cache of weapons from Peshawar to Karachi.

The force also arrested three suspects in the smuggling bust in the Ghotki district of interior Sindh.

The police received a tip-off that weapons were being smuggled in a car from Peshawar and had set up a picket where a suspicious car had been stopped.

During the vehicle’s security check, the police found two G3 rifles, six Kalashnikov rifles, one double-barrel gun, eighteen pistols and more than 4,000 rounds of ammunition.

Apart from the weapons, the officials also found 400 kilogrammes of hashish stashed in the vehicle.

The police arrested all three people travelling in the car.

use technology superior to one criminals are using and improve the lives of law enforcement personnel. check the assets of corrupt of these. track down their personal and their family members expenses so that honest (or relatively honest) are encouraged. Till some postings categorizes as lucrative and are subject to bribe, trade of such ammunition and killer machines will continue.
