The YouTube video shows three nerdy young boys in school uniforms and painted faces. They seem visibly unhappy as they sing about their packed lunch which consists of aalu anday (potato and egg curry), because they would prefer to eat chicken – even though it is a more expensive option.
The video is funny (especially the side parted hair and nerdy glasses) and the Punjabi lyrics clever. While the song initially seems to be a lament about lunch, as it goes on its message about Pakistani mentality becomes clear: people in Pakistan are chasing after the wrong things. It makes a dig at those who idolize Mumtaz Qadri and Ajmal Kasab, adding that personalities like physicist Abdus Salam are forgotten by most.
The best part about the song is the slogans being held up by the artists:
“Nawaz Sharif, Bye Bye. Papa Kiyani no likey you”
“Tehreek-i-Insaf = good looking Jamaat-e-Islami”
DAWN columnist Nadeem F Paracha agrees:
So, after lamenting the apathetic and confused state of the Sharifs, and winking at Imran Khan’s desire to see the ‘chief’ come in and light up Khan’s political career, BB then get to what are perhaps the most loaded and boldest lyrics of the whole song.
While some disagree and feel that the band has merely "strung a bunch of clichés together with a crappy, directionless video", I beg to differ. I shared it on my Facebook wall not because I’m putting in on my ‘best songs of 2011’ playlist; but because it is a light-hearted attempt at a message that cannot be reiterated enough.
Video rating: Two thumbs up!

A great pinch in the heart, too true to be bitter. Where our heroes are Qasaab, Qadri and 'burka posh' molvis but Dr. Slam is unknown person and where Taliban and Haqqanis are our protected assets, sure this is the time of Messiah's return.
Fantastic guys...bhetareeen:)!...
Great work done by these guys who beautifully describe the mentality of confused nation in just 3 minutes who has been handy caped by establishment since ages on name of religion its an amazing video with great message in light way..
@Shayan: "The production quality contradicts the image of high school kids developing a low budget song".
While all 3 are dressed in school uniform, only one of the 3 is actually a school kid in class 9. The other 2 are professionals - one is an economist and the other one is a director at a local news channel.
Witty, courageous, creative. Absolutely awesome.
funny how they picked out pti=good looking jamaat islami from the video, when there were a dozen placards in there. indeed thats the worst of the problems facing this country. intellectual dishonesty at its best.
they should have wrote "this video is sponsored my NFP".. look how hes doing marketing for this video.
@Shayan: I don't think they are trying to 'represent' anyone but themselves! Loved the song btw...and the signs held up in the video!
great work guys, keep it up, we need to stand against intolerance and extermism
Great Satire with loaded messege, i found it thru Nadeem Parach & kamran Shafi"s Tweet.
The production quality contradicts the image of high school kids developing a low budget song. A veiled attempt at projecting own opinions as popular thinking of the masses.
Light song with heavy message. Many "Patriotic" t.v anchors and journalists couldn't afford to have these facts on camera/article.
Awesome ! Too funny (The video)
Imran khan is what Pakistan needs.... or show me alternative.
Help Fire Brigade, there is "smoke" coming out of political offices and regiments, after this song release by Beygairat Brigade!
