Medical negligence: YDA doctors rally against police

Dozens of relatives of a former patient stormed into the hospital and beat up a doctor who they blamed for his death.

FAISALABAD: The Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) protested against the alleged maltreatment of an Allied Hospital senior doctor by the relatives of a deceased person on Saturday evening. According to health officials, dozens of relatives of a former patient stormed into the hospital and beat up a doctor who they blamed for his death. Allied Hospital’s Dr Khurram, Dr Irfan and Dr Muhammad Ali and YDA officers staged a demonstration within the compound of the DHQ and Allied Hospital on Sunday morning to protest against the authorities for not providing them with adequate security and for arresting the doctor. The protesters demanded immediate withdrawal of the case registered against their fellow doctors. They warned that if the case was not withdrawn, the doctors would boycott their duties and stage daily rallies.
