Badin court sets 41 bonded labourers, including 27 children free

The labourers were held at a private prison of an influential feudal in Khairpur Kambho.

BADIN: Police have recovered 41 bonded labours including 27 children from the private jail of an influential feudal on the orders of Badin court.

Ram Kohli submitted an application through a non-governmental organisation to a sessions court in Badin appealing that the court investigate a local feudal.

The application stated that an influential feudal, Shafi Muahmmad, had kept several people at his private jail in union council Khairpur Khamboh.

Kohli stated that around 41 people including 27 children are the victims of forced labour.

After hearing the petition, the court ordered Tando Bago police to search the facility and present the recovered persons in court.

After recording their statements, the court has set all bonded labourers free.
