Robbers loot cash, valuables from 2 houses

Robbers on Thursday night barged into two houses and took cash and valuables worth millions of rupees.


The first incident was reported in the limits of Lora Police Station. Wajid, a resident of Garhi Village, told the police that four masked men entered his house and tied him with a rope. He said the burglars pointed a gun at his four-month-old son and forced his wife to hand them the key to the lockers. They took away Rs600,000 and 2,100 Saudi riyals in cash, gold ornaments weighing 150 grams, a 12-bore gun, two cell phones and a wrist watch.

The second incident was reported from Dhodial Village in Mansehra District, where four armed men entered a local journalist’s house and made away with Rs175,000 cash, gold ornaments weighing over 200 grams, a pistol, a shotgun and six mobile phones.

Fakhar Alam, the journalist, said the robbers spoke Pashto language.

Police believe the robbers looted around Rs4 million worth of goods and cash in the two robberies. The police have registered separate cases and started investigations.
