KARACHI: At least eight people were injured in a grenade attack in Lyari on Friday.

Two assailants on a motorcycle flung a grenade on a gambling den, injuring eight people in Lyari’s Chakiwara area.

The injured, including a child and a woman, were shifted to Lyari General Hospital.

According to some reports the attack may be the part of a land feud between two gangs.

Grenade attacks have become common in Karachi recently, particularly Lyari, with the latest incident taking place in Lyari’s Agra Taj Colony late on October 3 where in three people were wounded.

Unidentified men on motorcycles tossed the grenade at a shop at Niazi Chowk and fled.

Police suspected that the grenade was actually meant for a wedding ceremony taking place on Fida Hussain Road and fell near the shop by mistake.
