RAWALPINDI: Police arrested 13 people on Thursday in connection with a dispute over a mosque in Rawalpindi.
Express 24/7 correspondent Syed Ali reported that the dispute arose when both groups claimed possession of a mosque located in the Gulzar-e-Quaid area of the city.
The clash between the two groups occurred last night when one party infiltrated the mosque and claimed to have “taken over” the mosque’s administration.
Today (Thursday), the rival group protested by blocking the road that leads up to the airport, causing severe traffic problems.
An FIR has been filed against the 13 people who were causing unrest during the protest. The dispute will be decided in court.
The mosque has been cordoned off by the police and neither party is being allowed to take control of it. An ad hoc committee is to be appointed by the city administration to manage the affairs of the mosque.

The leads and discussion with local people of area really depicts real situation. It was Red Mosque Maulana Abdul Aziz Sb who was bone of contention as he came of the mosque 1 day before this unfortunate incident occured. He pressurized Major Retired Atta Sb, the president of Committee to shift ownership to Laal masjid people who already have a seminary in the area with name Jaamia Syeda Ruqiya in Shah Faisal Colony and they have seized many mosques of Breilvi school of thought. And, when he refuse to sign , they threat him and in the meanwhile some locals thought in order to counter- Red mosque sucide scaud promoters and openly supporters of suicide attacks in Pakistan, we need protection. Police couldnt provide them protection so locally they arranged things and took help from a neutral religious group. Its really unfortunate but we need to see the matter deeply I guess.
Islam left Pakistan a long long time ago in 1948 when its name was used to peddle religion for personal gain. JI should be given the highest award for succeeding in its evil mission of turn the land into naPakistan after they failed to prevent the creation of the country which they had opposed so fanatically.

Call me simple and ignorant but I thought that God/Allah has the ownership of mosques not human beings. Only mullah can create situations like this.
These REMAININGS OF A DICTATORS THOUGHTS have made mosques their business center ,and now it's a lucrative business,you must have seen and observed that never ever any mosque in Pakistan is completed right from the day it's construction starts.You will always listen on Friday announcement from mosques" Jannat main ghar banayen ,yahan aik masjid banayen". They have their own ways to rob in very enticing and luring words.I know many mosques that's construction have never completed since decades.although the mosque stands perfectly but they need for " sarya, bajri aur tiles ki zarurat hey". The mosques are so abundant every where that people have choices where to say or where not to say. I m an eyewitness to the day long upset law and order situation caused by extremists. Undoubtedly they entered the Mosque along with their shoes, carrying guns and dandaas to take physical possession of the Mosque. This coward act absolutely brought bad name not only to our Religion but they disgraced THE HOUSE OF ALLAH as well. I must mention here is that one of the Key Member of the Masjid Management was the chief engineer of this whole drama that hv created extreme panic and law and order situation among the residents of the area. I call upon all the well wishers of peace and harmony to come forward and play their part in bringing back brotherhood and serene environment to the Mosque JUST TO PLEASE ALLAH.
I have been to Gulzar-e-Quaid many times since my relatives live there and I have been to this mosque many times. I can tell you that this mosque had it written specifically near the doors that it is NOT associated with any sect or whatever. It's open for all muslims etc I have also heard that it is Jamat-ud-Dawa who has done this thing. Its such a shame if this is true but we have to wait for them to either make a statement or till we get some kind of confirmation on this. But in anycase, these militant wings of political and/or religious parties have to be chopped off if we wanna have some kind of peace in our country. And Yeah for that we need to get rid of these treasonous political mafias ruling us as well.

interested in real story? the mohallah mosque management committee used to call different school of thoughts' maulvis to lead Jumma prayers turn by turn - this was being done to show tolerance in muslims instead of promoting one sect only - until they invited a maulvi from Jamaat ut Dawa (Lashkar -e- Tayyaba) - they thrown out members of the committee who were promoting unity - those thrown out members alongwith other residents went to re-claim the mosque only to see lots of Dawa people alongwith fire arms.

Auqaf should take custody of all mosques in Pakistan like in UAE. The wrong doers are using mosques as money minting machines for their own agenda not aligned with the teachings of Islam. We have to seriously look into the matter regarding earnings of Madrasa passouts as they only consider mosques as their source of income.
Too busy fighting for the mosque, god can wait
