SUKKUR: The ex-wife of a DSP was shot dead in her own house over money in Gharibabad Muhalla, Kandhkot, on Wednesday morning.

A group of four armed men allegedly broke into the house of Nasreen Khatoon, the former wife of Kandhkot DSP Rehmatullah Golo, and opened fire at her. The police moved the body to a hospital.

DSP Rehmatullah Golo told The Express Tribune that he divorced Nasreen Khatoon three years ago and her house was also near his. According to him, she had a fight over money with someone from the Golo community.

Nasreen had reportedly sold her jewellery for Rs2 million to Fayyaz Golo. He paid her Rs1.3 million on the spot and had promised to pay the remaining amount within a month. When Fayyaz did not pay despite repeated demands Nasreen lodged an FIR against him after which he was arrested and fined by the court.

Fayyaz spent time in jail and was bailed out a month ago. Nasreen’s brother, Mubarak Golo, said that Fayyaz did not intend to pay the leftover amount, hence his sister filed the FIR.

Mubarak Golo, Nasreen’s brother, registered a case against four men, Fayyaz Golo, Riaz Golo, Khair Mohammad, alias Baboo Golo, and Abdul Faheem Golo. But no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
