Welcome to Bollywood: Raising money by burglary lands rapper in jail

KARACHI: Can you sing? can you dance? Do you want to feature in a Bollywood production? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to fulfil your dream? Will you rob someone? Anees, has demonstrated that his desire to sing like Akon, and dance like Usher cannot be dampened by the confines of a prison cell.

Anees, alias Papi, was arrested during a police investigation into a burglary in Malir City. He told the officials that he had committed the crime to gather the required funds that would fund his life-long wish to go to Bollywood.

Papi’s unique method of keeping his spirits up, practicing his singing and dancing as he awaits a trial has kept the officers at the precinct amused.

While prisons are meant to be a correctional facility where criminals can reflect on their actions, all that Anees can seem to think about how he can achieve his goal. He says that he would not hesitate in committing another robbery if it helps fulfil his desire to star in a bollywood movie.

Looks like RAW's cultural invasion strategy is working :-)

I think it is a matter of shame for Pakistani Media Industry because our real talent goes to doldrums and only those with connections come up! Look at the talent of this man! Sings like Akon and dances like Usher and still behind the bars! I think he would have not opted for the burglary if he was supported by our people and institutions such as NAPA.

However, one can also say that he looked for shortcuts and there are no shortcuts in life... We need a psychological counseling rather than police torture!
