
Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has called on India and Pakistan to resolve their issues through dialogue and concentrate on tackling the poverty and unemployment that blight both countries.
Khan was addressing a delegation of journalists from Chandigarh. He said that Pakistan was against terrorism and had always strived for peace. He later hosted lunch for them.
He told the delegation of the legislation passed by the Punjab Assembly and how journalists had helped guide politicians. He said Indian and Pakistani journalists should encourage better ties between the two countries. He gave the delegates a tour of the house. The Indian delegation is headed by Chandigarh Press Club president Naveen S Grewal.
