Meeting: PM assures NLA of promoting Urdu language
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting Urdu langauge at national and international levels.
He made this assurance to NLA chairperson Dr Anwar Ahmed who called on former at the Prime Minister’s House on Monday, said a press release issued by NLA.
The Prime minister also subscribed to National Language Authority’s (NLA) monthly journal, ‘Akhbar-i-Urdu’ .
Other prominent figures, who have subscribed to the journal include Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Federal Public Service Commission Chairperson Justice (retd) Rana Bhagwan Das, I.A. Rehman, Zahida Hina, Dr Shah Muhammad Mari,Mehtaab Akbar Rashdi,Shehzad Ahmed, Muhammad Ali Saddiqui, Dr Muhammad Fakhar Haq Nori, Dr Sobia Saleem, Dr Najeeb Jamal, Col Masood Sheikh and Prof Fateh Muhammad Malik.
