Boxing: Haye expected to retire this week

LONDON: Former heavyweight champion David Haye is expected to retire from professional boxing on Thursday unless World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko offers him a fight, said Haye’s manager Adam Booth. Haye turns 31 on October 13, and had originally declared that the milestone would mark his retirement. Recently, however, he seemed willing to postpone the decision if Vitali agreed to a bout. “It’s one thing for Vitali to say he wants a fight, and another for him to offer one. The status quo is unchanged,” said Booth.
